Travel has me exhausted so Music Monday is going to be quick today. Oasis is my band pick for the week! If only the brothers in the band got along all would be right with the world, though I get the feeling that their arguing and disagreements led to their great sound and some of their best work.

A young artist on the way to great and solid fame. I remember when Brian brought home James Blunt’s album, it feels like that was so long ago and I’d say “Have you heard this song?” and people would look at me like I was smoking freaking crack and I made it up or something. I think that it’s pretty safe to say that is no longer the case! Many people know that this voice exists and have become entranced by it much as we have.

Time to throw a little something different into the mix. This week’s featured band is one of those bands you’ve probably heard a song by and then turned to the person sitting next to you at the bar and said “Who sings that again?” I blame the long name of the band … or maybe my friends all just have really bad memories. Either way I present you with The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and thier song The Impression that I Get. That’s the actual track title but a lot of people will say “play that knock on wood song” when requesting that it be played.

I’ve never had to knock on wood, but I know someone who has.
Which makes me wonder if I could.

And I’m glad I haven’t yet because I’m sure it isn’t good

Since we did a song last week by Letters to Cleo and I expressed my annoyance of people confusing Save Ferris and Letters to Cleo because of the movie 10 Things I Hate About You and their appearances in that movie…. I figured this week it was only fitting to do a song by Save Ferris! Okay maybe we’ll do two songs this week ….

Not to be mistaken with Save Ferris! Please people pay attention. Save Ferris was in the movie, they were the prom band, Letters to Cleo came in and sang this song at the prom. Both bands were featured in the movie, and both bands are favorites of mine

So, I see this on lots of other blogs and I wanted to participate because music is an accessory! It’s the best accessory. And with all the cool music gadgets and gizmos, mp3 players, ipods, cd burners, and what not it feels like a fitting thing to do here on Gadget Girl for fun. Besides that I don’t like to think too hard on Monday and this makes life simpler and gives you something nifty to read and listen to. Now … let’s see if my geekiness can properly upload an mp3 file.

First I made myself a little graphic header … just because I like to do that sometimes. Simple cute and identifies music monday on the pages easily enough. Right? Okay then onto the music!

I also signed up for a 4shared free gig of space account to store mp3 files, this is kind of like photobucket but for mp3 files. Yes, I have plenty of space in my hosting account for this domain, tons actually. But, you know there are the bandwidth stealers and hotlinkers out there so I figured this was the safest, fastest, easiest way to do things without crashing my website at any given point. It took two seconds to register and it’s free, and free is good.

For my first Music Monday I am sharing a favorite song of mine from my teenage years and still today remains a favorite, I’m sure you’ve heard it at some time or another. But I bet you didn’t know the name of the band! HA! Great band, original sound, ~ In case you don’t know already I’m talking about
