Today I’m going to do this a little different than usual. Why? Well remember that computer crash I mentioned earlier? Yeah, that. It took all my mp3 files with it and I am not ready to go hunting through the cd’s that are in storage bins. I know, I know, backups backups …. I will learn this lesson one way or another I suppose.
So today for Music Monday I present to you five other blogs with music monday features. Check ‘em out and enjoy.
Kellyology
Hate Something Beautiful
Better Than Blank
Sleeping in My Head
Bad Tofu
See you next Monday

I’m so happy to see this blog being revived! And with a great new series about setting up a blog on your own domain. The Casual Tech is just that, casual! I love that in a blog. A natural flowing writing style and no overuse of big jargon like words in attempt to confuse the readers. I’ve seen so many over the top tech blogs on the net, and it always makes me roll my eyes. You can be informative without being overdone and this blog is a great example of how to do that!
Yes, that’s right a tech blog doesn’t need to be full of long technical words, amazing isn’t it? So get ready to enjoy reading about the web, networking, and software all in plain English. Do check out the article on Greasemonkey productivity scripts. That was rather informative and I learned a few things about it, I’ve never used any Greasemonkey scripts but I’ve had it recommended to me on several occasions. I had been avoiding it because it was just another new thing and I didn’t feel like messing around -lol- But I definitely do need all the help I can get in the productivity department so I’ve put checking it out in on the to-do list for next week. Is it bad that I’m writing next week’s to-do list before I’ve finished this weeks? I can’t help it I’m a compulsive list maker.

I want to introduce another geek blog that happens to be written by a girl. You’d be surprised how many there out there, probably more tech blogs by women than by men ~ha! take that boys!~ This is one of my favorite reads, and it’s called Utterly Geek.
Where to begin? First, I love the theme on this blog. What says techie geekiness better than graph paper!?! It’s geeky, it’s fun, it’s not overly girly and who doesn’t sit ant their desk and scribble while they are thinking of the next big project to work on? I know I do it all the time. I actually tend to scribble on things I shouldn’t be scribbling on… whoops … like that tax form that came in the mail. I’m sure they were so pleased when I turned that in last year. LOL
You’ll find everything on Utterly Geek from Tech News to latest cool gadgets and geeky things. I’m always impressed and inspired when I see her posts in my feed reader because she finds the coolest things to blog about. Some of the videos she has found on YouTube will crack you up and keep you distracted entertained for hours. I can’t wait to see what she finds next
Of course it’s not all fun and games! There’s plenty of serious tech happening too. That’s another thing I love, the balance between work and play. Reviews of the coolest apps, from back up software and joomla use to using gmail and other cool everyday things. You’ll even find a bit of business and SEO mixed in with a dash of personality added.

I’d like to introduce you to a fellow Geek Girl
This nifty blog is not only written by a geek girl, it’s full of geek girl goodies too. I love how they have the weekly series setup going on, that is definitely something I need to think about doing. Getting a little blogging series going on, aside from our usual music monday that’s just for fun.
There’s the Geek Girl series, which is all about technology. You’ll find little tidbits about the newest and coolest tech popping up in this series each week. I just read her post about Mozy online, which I hadn’t even heard of yet -lol- always learning or finding something new on the internet. I should clarify that … I know of quite a few online backup places I just wasn’t familiar with Mozy. Backing up is important btw people. If you haven’t backed up your files yet this month, please go do that now.
Then there’s the new Soulville series that she’s doing. I’m sure you’re wondering where that name came from? The movie The Wiz ~ I don’t know why I feel old for knowing that movie but I sort of do. Anyhow, the Soulville series is going to be full of How-To‚Äôs, community service, sports and sporting goods, computers, web design and graphic design, home needs and organization goodies.
The only thing I spied on this blog that I didn’t like was the use of Comic Sans font on a few posts. I don’t know why this font annoys me so when I see it in anything other than the Sunday funnies. But, that’s just my own personal pet peeve, not really a site issue -lol- ignore my nerdiness and blog on!
One thing that I did like a lot on thepinkc site was what I found when I clicked on the “site design” tab at the top of the page. It tells you about all the nifty wordpress plugins that are being used on the blog! Have you ever been to a blog and saw a cool feature and wondered “how the heck did they get it to do that?” Yeah, all the freaking time, right? A little page like this lets you know exactly how they did that, and I love sharing the knowledge. I’ll have to go write down the plugins I use and make a list too! Great idea.
