Wonder what she’s doing now …

Stop animation always fascinates me, and I’m a hugely obsessed with fan of Grease. Combine that with my 9 year olds love of legos and you’ll understand why this video I found on YouTube got more than one play in our house. Followed by “Mom, can we watch the Grease Lightning movie?” Funny how they think it’s all about he car. Who am I to argue with them?

Although it is slightly inconvenient to use tapes, at least you can buy several and keep shooting even if you don’t have time to download all the video. We quickly ended up filling up our hard drive with shots of the kids!

Overall the camera is easy to use and the battery lasts a good long time, unlike many camcorders in the same price range. This one makes it for a couple of hours and the cables are small enough to carry with you if you are shooting somewhere else, like in a school gym at your child’s firs school play. Of course you may need to battle another parent with a dead camcorder battery for the nearest outlet!

Another nice feature is that you can use it for taking still frame digital photos. Very handy when you are filming a cute moment with the baby and don’t want to stop and go looking for the other digital camera! You can just switch over and start snapping photos. I am glad to see that this is becoming more of a standard feature in digital cameras these days, because it is definitely beneficial to not have to carry two cameras when you go someplace and know that you will be wanting lots of photos and video.

It comes with its own fun software for downloading and making funky music videos. Not necessary, but very entertaining! You can use it to make your own funny videos complete with silly sound effects just like on funniest videos shows, or you can let the kids use it to edit their skateboarding videos! Nothing better than falling, crashing, glass breaking sound effects. Of course if you’ve got karaoke singers in the house they can star in their very own superfly music video.

Additionally, the steady cam feature helps keep the picture from wobbling around too much. The night vision is a lot of fun when shooting without light, and is great for making your own “Blair Witch” style documentary, or you know for regular camping videos too!

It isn’t the perfect camera, though. It is very difficult to zoom evenly while shooting because the steady zoom is located in an awkward place, on the view screen. The roller zoom is a bit unstable, although it was located in a better position than the steady zoom. Also, the weight is a little bit awkward to carry compared to some lighter weight cameras out there, so for longer shoots you probably will want a tripod or other form of support.

Do you need a commercial collection agency behind your business to collect on those past due accounts?

Small portable external hard drive for your computer. Use it to back up your files from your computer and make more room in your computer. It hooks up to your computer via USB cable. Once plugged into your computer, it automatically turns on or off with your computer. This product is a must for anyone who treasures their photos, videos, audios, ebooks and other files - and need to backup these files for safe keeping.

This is an easy-to-use external hard drive for your computer. It is perfect for storing music, photos, videos and other files from your computer - great for backing up all your files - which is a must if you are like me who has lots of photos, videos and audio in my computer and need to make room in my hard drive for more stuff. It is easy to use - installation is super easy - even for newbies - you just plug the external hard drive to your computer and it installs itself - it loads automatically. It is small, light weight (about 4 pounds only) and you can use more than one if you need to and stack them next to each other. It is very affordable.

Cost is less than $100 ($77 at Amazon) and it is a small price to pay if you have all your files backed up that way if ever your computer crashes, you have your info backed up. It is very handy - you can easily move it from one location to another. It needs to be plugged into electricity though - it does not operate with batteries - so, that is something to consider. Having your files backed up is an important step that a lot of people over look, whether you’re running a home business, organizing your home, or just storing your digital photos, a computer crash and loss of files can cause a great amount of stress. I learned all about it the hard way!

Even if it doesn’t it’s still my favorite piece of technology in the house (aside from the computer of course!) because it plays all my favorite movies whenever I want to watch them. If I need to unwind and get rid of some daily stress after being on the computer all day working my fingers away on the keyboard, the DVD player saves me with a movie! It gets my mind off of the every day tediousness of life.

Of course I could watch tv shows, but they are short and not nearly as entertaining as my DVD’s, and I don’t have one of those fancy boxes that let you pause live tv, so when I have to go to the bathroom or I want to go make a milkshake or something I can’t just push a button and walk out of the room. That’s always a good bonus feature!

But, I can’t just go jumping into any movie, of course not. I always end up getting way too involved and not just watching the movie but checking out the movie reviews on my laptop and getting involved in blogs and movie discussions too. What kind of geek would I be otherwise?

I recently received this wonderful little camera as a gift. Let’s cover the technical mumbo jumbo first.

Features 1/6-inch 680,000 pixel CCD, 32x optical zoom and 800x digital hyper-zoom. Illumi-Light mode illuminates dark scenes and Live Slow mode records in slow motion with real-time audio. Easy-to-read 2.5-inch LCD color monitor that flips out and turns. One-touch auto feature for manual to automatic operation. SD/MMC card slot for still photo storage.

About the SD card and the still photo storage. I found out the hard way that unless you have a SD or MMC card in the slot your still frames won’t be saved and cannot be picked up and transferred. However being the sly little thing that I am I managed to rescue a few from the video footage by putting it into Window’s Movie Maker and saving the still screen from there. Ah-ha!

The camera is really light weight. It doesn’t come with a camera bag, and I have yet to find one that will hold it the way I’d like it to. Because of that storage so far when at home is in the box, and I’ve only taken it out a handful of times. The lens cap pops on and off really easy, maybe too easily or I’m just clumsy.

The direction manual for this little wonder is not the greatest. And it can be a confusing camera to work. One of the things that it didn’t specify was that the transfer wire you need to get your video footage from the camera to your computer is not included anywhere in the box. You need a firewire and there’s nothing in the box that really directs you toward getting one. Still photo transfers aren’t easy either. You have to have the SD card in the camera and then run a USB transfer wire from the camera to the computer. I tried putting just the card in my card reader and nothing happened, it appeared blank. Weird huh?

I’m still learning the ropes with this camera, and taking live footage is way different than just snapping still photos. I am a photography newbie as it is and this format is totally different to learn.
