Zune HD: Microsofts iPhone Answer?

We all have been waiting and waiting for Microsoft to come up with their own version or answer to the iPhone, well our wait might be over! Microsoft has issued a statement on their latest product.

Meet the Zune HD, which is the newer version of Microsoft’s Zune mp3 player that has been put out against Apple’s famous iPod. The second generation Zune is still some what like the first generation, however some big changes have also come with the new version Zune.

So what does the new Zune HD do and have? Can it compete with the iPod and iPhone? It is fully integrated with the Xbox Live, has Wi-Fi and is in HD. Here are a few specs for you-
3.3 inch, 16.9 screen and multitouch technology.

As for if it can hold its own weight against the iPod and iPhone, it could, but could also full fill other areas that hand held media lacks. Bringing all the media in one hand held device, might just make Apple fail with hand held media players.

Of course like the previous Zune, it can and will play music as that was and is the main purpose for it. But they also hope to fill the niche of hand held mobile media/gaming players that are all-in-one. Despite the fact that the iPhone and iPod Touch both have gaming applications, it doesn’t exactly work the best for most hard core gamers who want a good gaming system.

It should be released to stores and the public sometime this fall(though no official release date has been issued as of yet, well keep you posted!) and more info will be released during the E3 show next week as well as the release date gets closer.

I love my flash drives. They keep my files safe, they store photos and backups of all sorts of things for me. Who said flash drives can’t be fun too? Domo is ready to munch of some fingers. You might recognize Domo, a Japanese television station created him as their mascot quite some time ago and as with all things Japanese and animated popularity and fame followed. Domo mimobot Series 1 comes preloaded with exclusive bonus Domo content, including 23 ofthe original stop-motion shorts that made him such a hit both domestically and abroad, computer goodies like icons and desktops, and the mimobot soundByte application.

But, if you’re looking for something a little more girly and …. oh, let’s say maybe… pink! Well, there’s always Hello Kitty flash drive full of pink 3-D cheerfulness. This design is cute, cuddly, and waterproof all in one small flash drive package.

Personally, I’d go with Domo. He’s got more space and more function for your dollar. And he can scare away file snatching predators …. grrrrrr! Hiveminder tracks all your daily tasks

Hiveminder is a web-based service that tracks all your daily tasks through email. It is full of tools that will help you remember, assign and create tasks all in one convinent place. It even allows you to share your tasks with family, friends and co-workers.

Do all those to-do lists seem to get you down? Find it hard to keep track of all the things you have to do each day? Hiveminder helps keep everything in order and makes life less complicated.

My life is full of these little sticky notes. No matter where I look there’s a note reminding me to do this and don’t forget that. The bad part is I do forget! I forget to look at the notes or they get lost in this pile of papers on what was once my desk.

Not anymore. With Hiveminder all I have to do is bring up my account, add the task to a list, check email and be on my way. No more missed appointments or deadline.

I love the braindump feature. Braindump is exactly what I need to do too. With braindump I just enter a task as soon as I think of it that way I don’t forget about it. I can then go back later and organize all my dumped tasks into categories.

The number system used for tasks works great too. As soon as I create a task it’s assigned a number. No two tasks have the same number so if it’s something I need to assign to someone else, I don’t have to worry that it will get mixed up with other tasks.

Hiveminder also include tabs. These tabs help you set out your tasks in different categories. I simply assign various tabs for items like phone calls, Dr. appointments, grocery shopping, laundry pickup, client projects and deadlines and so on. This saves me so much time because I don’t have to go through every single task I have in order to find just one. I just hit the tab, look at the tasks and find the right one in a blink of an eye.

In today’s world of go-go-go anything that can make my life simple has got to be good. From my standpoint Hiveminder is great. Sure helps keep me from running around in circles all the time!
