Browsing in Contests!

My fellow geek girl in blogdom is having a contest. Is blogdom a word? If not I just made it up! Anyhow, PinkC’s contest is super easy to enter. All you have to do is blog about PinkC! There’s over $300 worht of prizes up for grabs. Don’t worry she’s not giving away totally dorky auto accessories or one of those darn ipod nanos that I am already sick of seeing. She’s giving away something much more valuable. Advertising space. They say that links are the currency of the internet, in which case I suppose that makes the contest prize even more valuable. I’ve already told you all about The PinkC in a previous review, so I’ll be nice and not repeat myself, but I’d like to remind you that she’s pretty darn cool and I tihnk it’s a valuable ad spot to be had. So, quit your him-hawing and get over there and enter.

I made a video, it was cute and fun, and the computer chewed on it and spit it out … I don’t know what happened but it’s no longer on the camera, and it’s not working on the computer so you’ll just have to take my word for it and excuse my lack of video skill.

So, without further babble from me the winners are …..

*drumroll*

Deb at BizMarkTech!

Drew at Benspark!

Michael at SlightlyMordant!

Congratulations to our three winners and a big thank you shout out to Blogger & Podcaster Magazine for sponsoring our contest. There will indeed be a new contest for September and I promise it shall be geeky and gadget like.

Thank you all for entering and blogging about Gadget Girl Accessories on your blogs. I hope you all had fun and I hope to see you all back again for the September contest!

Tomorrow is the last day to get your entry in for the random drawing to be held on the 29th. Three lucky readers will get a free year of Blogger & Podcaster delivered to their door. You could be one of the lucky winners! Hurry, hurry, I’m going to attempt a video post for the big drawing. With the help of one of my adorable little assistants. Good luck everybody!

My recent post titled Dear iRobot, is in a competition ~ The Blog Battle Royale. Voting has begun and I’d really appriciate it if you could take a moment to vote for my entry (#22 in the list)

The top five entries [based on number of votes, ie it’s a popularity contest because that’s so fair -lol-] will receive a PostiePack with an iRobot Roomba robot vacuum, along with a specially-designed Blog Battle Royal t-shirt!

Now, the i Robot Roomba vacuum has been on my gadget wish list for a year now! (The iRobot Scooba is on my wishlist too if you’re shopping for me!) I’d love to have one, but I could never come up with the extra money and my vacuum cleaner still works in a functionable enough manner! Not that I was trying to break it so I could get a new one or anything…. Besides that I could use some new t-shirts too!

So far I’ve got one vote on the list and I think that was my husband -lol- *sulking off to my dark corner to sit with the other unpopular kids*

We’re half way through the month and I’d love to see some more of you enter the contest and get in for the Blogger & Podcaster subscriptions! All you’ve got to do is make a quick post about it on your blog and let me know that you posted and you’ll be in the running. What are you waiting for?

I enjoy your great products very much and the way they make life easier for all us crazy humans. You’ve taken the idea of having a cleaning robot and made it a reality. I’d like to see a few more aspects of my daily life made easier and I was really hoping that you might be able to help me out with that. Afterall it is 2007 and I am supposed to have a holographic telephone and a flying car by now. So far it seems your company has been one of the few to help us get a step closer to that “future” we all dreamed would happen in this decade.

As much as I would love a grocery shopping robot, I see how that could get messy. All those robots walking around the grocery store buying the same things, and the poor cashiers wondering where all these groceries are really going to.

So, instead I’m going to request a simple thing. I’d really like an iRobot that folds and puts away the laundry in the right person’s room. This one chore is the most tedious and time consuming of all my chores. If it could somehow identify which laundry belongs to whom, fold it, place it in the correct basket, and deliver that basket to the bed of the appropriate person for being put into drawers I would be able to get so much more done and spend more quality time with family doing other things. Even with the kids recruited to help this one task can take us up to an hour or more each day! Then there is the sock sorting and rolling. We might need a completely separate robot for that task!

I beg of you to help with this chore. I know that myself and households everywhere will be ever grateful for your technological advancements and creativity. Anyone that wears clothes is sure to enjoy this iRobot!

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Loretta Oliver

blogger and podcaster magazine for the blogging industryI was talking about this the other day and Larry from Blogger & Podcaster stopped by and offered to sponsor a contest for our readers here at Gadget Girl Accessories. I could not be more pleased! Thanks to Larry we are giving away not just one, but three print subscriptions to Blogger & Podcaster magazine!

Having the magazine in print in front of you is going to be so awesome. You can just grab it out of the mailbox and go sit out on the patio, or lay down in bed, heck you can read it while you’re in the bathtub if you want to! Digital subscriptions are good too of course, and those are completely free. Sometimes it’s just nice to read things “away” from the computer and get in some relaxing time.

Since this is our first contest here at Gadget Girl, I am going to keep things really super simple. All you have to do is blog about me! You can talk about anything on the site, mention the contest, give a link here, and either leave a trackback or a comment (or both if you want!) on this post and point me towards your posting. That’s it, ta-da, you’ll be entered for a random drawing on August 29th. Make sure you leave me a valid email address, link or contact info so I can get in touch with you easily if you’re a winner to get the rest of your information. Receiving the in print subscriptions is going to be limited to USA and Canadian residents for his contest. If you have any questions leave me a comment or click the contact button in the sidebar.

In the meantime while we’re waiting patiently for the end of August and the big drawing head over to Blogger & Podcaster and pick up your free digital subscription and check out this month’s issue.

I made above banner to display on the top of the home page instead of stickying the post. If you’d like to you can also use the banner in your post or on your website to help spread the word about the contest. Simply copy and paste the following html;
