I’ve been a busy bee the past few weeks with my Virtual Assistant business. One of the things I love about technology is it makes it possible for me to do business anywhere at anytime. I can set up a conference call with a client on the west coast and be in my pajamas ready to go to bed after our meeting. Well, as long as it is a phone conference and not a webcast conference.
And it’s not just web and call conferencing, but all sorts of things that make my job easier. I can email you anytime of day, from anywhere. I can take my laptop with me and work from just about any location there’s a wifi connection. The airport, a coffee shop, the bookstore, the library, my son’s baseball game! It’s brought a great flexibility to my life that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Yes, print screen is easy as pie, but if you use SnagIt to capture screen you don’t have to also open up editing software and paste, and crop, and all those things. It’s a huge time saver if you do a lot of screen captures like I do. I use it just about every day.
This software doesn’t just do a screen capture, it also lets you easily add circles, boxes, text, arrows, and other things to highlight why exactly it is that you captured that screen in the first place. Just need to capture a small part of the screen? Not a problem, do a capture region. Want to capture the whole page? That’s not a problem either, you can capture with scroll to get all the information on a page. Great for tutorials and showing off website designs.
Download the 30 day trial of SnagIt for free and give it a test run. There are loads of little gems about this program but I’m not going to chew your ear off all day about it. Just try it. You’ll be glad you did.

The purchase price is $39.99, but if you enter Promotional Code SNUG at the time of checkout it will take $10 off and give you a purchase price of only $29.99 for this very useful gadget. Enjoy.
Or if you're saving your pennies for a Patek Philippe watch to splurge on your hubby’s birthday or your anniversary you can download the free trial for right now and give it a test drive. It’s worth it, I promise.

I’ve been working from home for a little over 7 years now. Amazing how time flies on you. One of the advantages of working from behind your computer is that often times your clients are states away from you. How is that an advantage? It means you don’t have that awkward first meeting to deal with before you get the job. You know the one I mean, the one where you wonder if your shirt is too tight, if your pants make your look as bloated as you feel, did your acne treatment do a good job, do you have lipstick on your teeth, why can’t you stop fidgeting your foot under the table …. yeah that meeting. I know not all first meetings go that way, sometimes first meetings really knock it out of the park. But when your first meeting is online you get a chance to showcase your skill set for that job, and you can put more thought into what you are writing as you write it. I think it gives a real chance to work on your portfolio and get things out there that you’re proud to have worked on. And you can do it in sweatpants and a t-shirt if you want and no one will ever know

Shoes are often the most fun accessory a working girl can have. Add a fun pair if shoes to that business suit and you’ve got style, personality and a flair all your own that the boys just can’t match. I know if I say platform shoes the first thing that pops into your head is knee high white leather and goldfish swimming in the bottom of your boots. But you can get mini platform shoes, typical looking shoes with just a teensie, tiny bit of a boost in height.
