There’s an iphone app for everything; you can figure out which direction you’re traveling in with the scarily accurate compass application and you can pretend to be Daft Punk with the endlessly entertaining idaft application.
One iphone app which is making a trip to the supermarket more than just a hunter/gatherer experience is Mart Bingo. This app is a game of bingo, but instead of marking off numbers, you’re looking out for common features that we all come across on a shopping trip. Let’s take the example of a trolley which has a dodgy wheel. It’s surely the most common occurrence that is globally recognized as the most annoying thing about a shopping experience. You’re trying to steer it one way and it pushes you right into a display of beans. You narrowly miss out on spending a fortune on broken cans and you are horrendously embarrassed. Well this is one of the things that you can immediately mark off your Mart Bingo card.
The game features a standard bingo grid, and a selection of common occurrences that take place when shopping. The selection is taken from a total of 100 possible occurrences that might take place at your local supermarket, including the very common credit card declines and people blocking the aisle locked in a conversation about nappies.
It’s all very tongue in cheek, but this game is a fun way to mark down when you notice crazy things going on in store. You can of course, email your results to friends and compete to achieve the most marked off squares and see who can get a bingo first!
The dawn of the iPhone has launched an app for just about everything, so why not use yours to have a silly shopping trip. Just try not to laugh out loud when you’re marking off some rare finds, like seeing a bird fly into the store.

Gadget Girls, watch out, your night is being interrupted by Bingo! It’s a massive phenomena sweeping the world with an alternative bingo audience taking part in a night of raving, glowsticks and bingo.
You might never put bingo and a rave together but the idea is catching on with games of ‘Cosmic Bingo’ taking place in nightclubs across the globe. On your night out, you’ll be able to experience all the fun of loud music, neon lights and a game of fast paced bingo which will test your wits as everything around you is whirring and glowing.

Once you enter the themed night, you receive a glow in the dark bingo card and this is where your surreal night begins! You might associate traditional bingo with an eerily silent bingo hall with people rapidly dabbing away at bingo cards, multitasking to the max and probably earning themselves a hernia in the process but Cosmic Bingo turns this stereotype on its head, making it another way to bring bingo to a younger demographic. Online bingo has become a huge phenomena, allowing people across the globe to interact whilst playing bingo, but for those who are 24/7 party animals, Cosmic Bingo could well be a new way to introduce a bit of tame bingo fun into a fast paced lifestyle.
At a Cosmic Bingo game, the pressure is wholeheartedly removed and the aim of the game is to have a fantastic time with the music cranked right up to 11. Try to talk over the music, sing your head off and dance your socks off whilst playing bingo on your night out. It’s an unusual twist to the usual night out but its proving very popular among the younger demographic; granting ravers the possibility to win prizes by matching up their glow in the dark numbers to the numbers called over the music and projected onto huge screens within the venue.
So crack out those legwarmers, slap on the body paint and prepare yourself for a night of Cosmic Bingo, coming to a city near you soon!

You know when they said chocolate was bad for you, it wasn’t strictly true! Of course, having chocolate for every meal, every day, might not be so brilliant, but eating chocolate in moderation actually has health benefits! We’re here to bust those chocolate myths and tell you why a little bit of what you fancy: a Dairy Milk, Galaxy or those scrummy high cocoa content chocolate bars can do you the world of good!
No more guilty chocolate eating for us! Hooray!
1. Living Longer
Yes! Surveys have shown that eating chocolate in moderation could protect against heart disease and therefore could promote longer life. It is believed that consuming cocoa is linked to cardiovascular health benefits, where blood pressure is reduced and in turn resulting in less deaths. Although the evidence is inconclusive, it’s pretty promising!
2. Anti-Oxidant
Reports have also shown that chocolate, particularly chocolate with a high cocoa content may have anti-oxidant benefits. By eating a moderate amount of dark chocolate it may help to produce antioxidants which help to lower the levels of free radicals in the blood. The impact of this is said to promote a healthy heart.
3. PMT
You know that chocolate craving you get? Well there may be a scientific explanation for it! Low levels of magnesium are directly linked to PMT and chocolate can substitute this as it contains high levels of magnesium. It also stimulates endorphin production, making you feel happier! A little chocolate can make you feel perked up, just don’t eat too much!
4. Energy
Chocolate is a great source of energy, it also contains many essential vitamins with A, B, C,D and E vitamins all present in chocolate along with calcium, potassium and magnesium.
5. Aphrodisiac
Lastly, ladies, it has been suggested that chocolate may be an aphrodisiac too! It has a reputation that stems as far back as Casanova, who ate chocolate as an aphrodisiac. It is known to release Phenylethylamine and Serotonin, chemicals which promote euphoric effects, so you’ll have an energy boost and feel good, explaining the possibility of it being an aphrodisiac.
Chocolate is delicious and if it comes with some health benefits – brilliant. Just remember, chocolate that is high in cocoa content is better for you as it has less saturated fats and sugars in it. Don’t gorge on too much chocolate though, everything in moderation. Vegetables are really good for you too! http://www.littlewoodsbingo.com

Being geeky is something that should be celebrated, we should be proud of our computer wizardry and encyclopedic knowledge! Looking the part is one of the best things about being geeky too. Previously, to look geeky was deemed a little uncool but nowadays geek chic has been totally embraced and is definitely desirable. Take a look at all the catwalk shows we’ve seen this year and the concept of ‘geek chic’ took massive prominence.
The key to looking gorgeously geeky is to be comfortable in your own skin, stand up straight, and be proud of who you are. If you’re wearing your oldest, greyest tracksuit, you’ll still look brilliant because you exude confidence!
Picking up any top, whether it has a bright pattern on it or not and matching it with a cute cardigan, is completely effortless. Don’t worry about rules of clashing colors, fabrics or patterns that your mother may have drummed into you from childhood, clashing is fine, in fact, clashing is brilliant!
We all love Ugly Betty, she’s a figurehead for us all and her clothes are frankly, amazing! You know what’s great about Ugly Betty, she might look totally crazy in what she’s wearing but the fact that she’s happy in her own skin makes us love her all the more. We bet you didn’t know that all the clothes that America Ferrara, the actress who plays Betty, is styled in are mostly designer pieces clashed together! We’re talking items worth thousands of dollars!
The comic book is back with a vengeance, with comic book movies coming out of Hollywood left right and centre! A comic book T-shirt and pop-art designs which have been worn by the geekiest amongst us for years upon years are becoming one of the biggest fashion trends out there! Fashionistas across the globe are sporting Batman tees and Mary Jane shoes and trying to emulate those geek chic styles that are so effortless.
If you can pull off looking effortlessly lovely by picking up whatever outfit you find on your bedroom floor AND have a compendium of knowledge in that brain of yours, trust us, you’re a step ahead of the rest! Embrace your geekiness, you’re smart, and you look great. Whilst you’re being a master at multitasking, take a look at Littlewoods Bingo for a quick online game!

The iPhone has undoubtedly become one of the best multimedia devices of the 21st Century. It’s a flashy gadget packed with the best features that we want from a phone, including, but not limited to, a portable media player, internet and email access at your fingertip, unbelievable real-time 3D graphics and it looks amazing too. One thing that really has wowed us is the sheer amount of brilliant, wacky and occasionally downright weird applications that are available for download to your iPhone. As Christmas is coming, we’ve sourced the best festive applications available for the iPhone that are sure to get you in the Christmas spirit.
Global Snow Reports
This nifty little application will definitely get you in the Christmas spirit as you’ll know exactly where in the world it is snowing. You can personalize the application to your own requirements to ensure that you’ll know exactly when the snow is on its way. Remember, it’s always better to be snowed in than snowed out!
Christmas Countdown
The Christmas Countdown is available as a free application which allows you to keep tabs on the arrival of Christmas. This up-to-the-minute countdown will mean that you’re never lost without the precise time to go! You can also listen to Christmas music whilst watching the minutes tick away, what could be more fun than that?
Let It Snow Globe
Our favourite application for this Christmas is a virtual snow globe. It works in the same way that a standard glass snow globe would, all you need to do is shake your iPhone and you’ll have gorgeous snow tumbling down the screen to reveal Santa and a Christmas tree. Not real snow of course, that would be ridiculous, the iphone can do a lot but making real snow…not just yet.
Christmas Tree
Download the Christmas tree application and you’ll be presented with a bare Christmas tree and the tools needed to decorate it. You’ll be provided with a selection of pretty decorations to trim the tree with; maybe you can take inspiration for your own tree from the virtual version!
Christmas Sounds
This application may start to become annoying after a while, we’re just warning you! You can download a selection of the best Christmas sounds including the jingling of sleigh bells and that famous ‘Ho Ho Ho’. The application also gives you a selection of Christmas tunes too. The best thing about this application is that you are able to play the music down the phone to your friends and family!
After amusing yourself with the various downloads available for the iPhone, perhaps use the phone in its basic function: phone home and wish everyone a Happy Christmas!
