I had started a small project in the hopes of making it to Disney this year over Christmas vacation. While I might still come up with the money for the trip to see the big mouse, our plans may have already been thwarted by that evil thing called work.

Hubby’s office has just been put on mandatory 16 hours a week of overtime, 8 during Monday through Friday, and then another 8 on Saturday. And they have to do it that way, which is ruining our usually Saturday routine. Grr. They also just had a meeting that if anyone wants the two days off at the beginning of Christmas break they need to request them by the end of April. See the office is shut down for two weeks, but there’s also an extra two days where coming is sort of optional, and we were hoping to snag those two days and take a vacation over the majority of the winter break.

The point is I won’t know in time if we’ll have the money or not, but we’d still like to do something over that winter break. I think we’ll take a smaller vacation. Maybe head up to Hershey PA for a few days, or rent a place near the beach or something. Not exactly shopping for luxury vacations but something small, a three or four day trip to a quiet place.
