My upcoming townhome inspection reminds me that we have everyday, useful gadgets all over the house that keep us safe and alert us when something might be wrong in our home. How often we take these things for granted.
We have three smoke detectors that tell us when there may potentially be a fire in the house. I don’t know about yours, but mine also detects fast increases in heat, if my clothes dryer gets too hot, or the fire in the fireplace is too big that sucker will start to beep. We have air filters on the furnace/ac unit that help clean the air circulating through our home. A good filter is very helpful for the boys asthma and allergies.
We also have a carbon monoxide detector in our home to monitor carbon monoxide levels. Carbon monoxide leaks are silent and unnoticeable at first. By time you realize it’s happened it might just be too late, and no one wants that to happen. Want to see extreme safety detection gear? You could always check out these methane gas detectors.
As a reminder March 9th is daylight savings time ~ spring those clocks ahead one hour! This is also a good time to change the batteries in your smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector. That way you don’t forget. I just bought a big pack of batteries for the occassion myself.
