A quick 2 second power blink …. it’s happened a million times before, nothing out of the ordinary, you know?

Turn the computer back on … fan spins … black screen telling me it needs repaired. Run PC Doctor diagnostic to find problem, get error code and contact tech support to find out what error code means. Tech guy tells me it means my hard drive needs to be replaced, and runs my serial number to tell me that my warranty is up (which I already knew I didn’t need him to tell me that! LOL) Lovely.

When will I ever learn? My last computer had crashed and left me with no files … so I learned to backup files and all that but I’ve been a slacker and haven’t created any backups in awhile so now I’m going to lose a lot if we can’t get the data recovery to work by slaving it to another PC tomorrow.

Including all my work for my job this week …. normally I’d save to my flash drive but hubby was using the laptop for a project so I knew I wouldn’t be switching back and forth and just saved to hard drive, huge mistake. Ugh. :(

It’s not the end of the world, but I’m sad.
