Is it Thursday already? Holy schnikey where did this week go to? It’s been so busy and I’ve been ill all week coughing like crazy with bronchitis. Did you know that you can crack a rib just by coughing? I haven’t yet, but the doctor told me I have to see him again soon because if it continues to get worse that’s always a possibility and of course it’s never good to be coughing up your lungs on a daily basis.

Silly me forgot that we have a nebulizer in the house for the boys asthma! Not only do I have a nebulizer I have inhalants for it too. Duh me! So, guess what cool gadget I’m going to tell you about today? I’ll give you a hint, you are more likely to find it at the pharmacy than at your local hobby shop or gadget store. That’s right the nebulizer. Very handy if you have asthma or seasonal sinus type allergies. There are different types of nebulizers too. A pneumatic nebulizer uses compressed air via some method to turn liquid medication into a breathable mist. An ultrasonic nebulizer uses ultrasonic vibrations to turn the liquid medication into a mist. The difference between the two methods used to create the mist is in the size of the minute particle that make up the mist. With an ultrasonic nebulizer you typically get the vast majority of mist particles in he ideal 5 micron range which allows the mist to penetrate and stay in the lungs more efficiently. Also you can get a portable battery powered ones or not so portable ones that you will need an outlet to use. Neither is big or heavy, so they’ll travel easy regardless. Ours plugs into an outlet but we take it when we go on vacation etc…
